it's true that we don't appreciate something till we lose it. this is often correlated with all sorts of grieves, especially death. yet, do you think due to death, we actually will never meet the deceased ever again?
we all believe that one day, we're all gonna die. it's just time that matters. yesterday, i got a call from my family that my uncle just died of severe heart condition. i was really sorry to hear that, since he was one of the uncles who i'm closest with since my father passed away. well, the sad news made me to ponder a while; though i feel very sad at that time, i started to think. is it death that separates us from people we love most?
here comes the logic, we believe that our lives in this world as temporary, and on the day of judgment, we will then know where we're gonna go after that (this is a muslim's belief). we also know that we're gonna be rewarded/punished with is totally dependent on what we've done and will do with the rest of our lives.
thus, in this specific case, if those who do good in their lives will (insyaallah) end up in heaven while who don't end up otherwise (na'uzubillah). hence, the only way we can meet those who passed away before us is to make good deeds and consequently end up at good place in here after.
this really explains that death isn't the cause of people to be separated, because our lives are ephemeral, yet the existence of our souls is eternal. GOD has reasons to have everything according his qada' and qadar (trust me, my father's death really made me stronger) and it's totally our job to follow the rules of the Almighty and pray for the best not only for us, but also for everyone.
though my late uncle isn't rich or famous (the common reasons people are liked), and just a village dweller, yet he had my highest respect for his sincerity to look after me since my father passed away. what an enormous deed had he done; no wonder prophet muhammad pbuh said in a hadith that who deserve good treatment from the society are single mothers and orphans.
MAY ALLAH BLESS HIS SOUL AND THOSE WHO DIED DEFENDING HIS WAY
al fatihah
